How Chip and Jen Met

It all started May 9, 1999. It was a lazy Sunday and an email came in to Chip's mailbox at 4:30 in the afternoon. It began as follows.
Hi, Chip!

My name is Jen. I don't quite know how I ended up at your web page, but I
did. And I read it all. You have a lot to say, and you made me laugh out
loud, so I decided to write.
There was much more, telling Chip a lot about Jen, what she did, who she was, and so forth. Jen had somehow, after three hours of playing with her new computer, randomly ended up on Chip's web page. She had written an email to Chip and teetered on the edge of sending or not sending it.

Chip replied fairly quickly and the emails went back and forth for a few weeks. After Chip saw the opening night of "Star Wars, the Phantom Menace" and received some free passes (projector malfunction), he invited Jen, a semi-closeted Star Wars fan, to join him to use the passes. She accepted.

On May 26, 1999, Chip and Jen agreed to meet at Marche for dinner before the movie. Chip, who had never even seen a picture of Jen, happened to check her out while walking to dinner. (Both Chip and Jen were a few minutes early. Jen, in a not-so-surprising move, decided to shop for a few minutes. Chip saw her walking past and turned his head to check her out. It was only a few minutes later when they met at the pre-determined spot that Chip knew the person he ogled was his date.)

That night, something happened. There is even a rumor that they held hands during the movie. Several nights later, the two went out again. And then again, and again and again.

We're still, and always will be, together.

UPDATE: On May 26, 2000, Chip and Jen went on a short cruise for the weekend. At 7:15 pm, one year exactly after meeting, Chip knelt down on one knee and pulled out a small Pooh Bear who was wearing a ring and asked Jen to marry him and be with him for the rest of his life. For the record, she said, "yes."

UPDATE On June 30, 2001, we were married...
